CariDee English is America’s Next Top Model
Category: Career, Personality, Fashion, BeautyA beautiful photographer from Fargo, North Dakota, CariDee English, 21, has won the seventh season of the hit reality TV series, “America`s Next Top Model.” English will be prominently featured in an upcoming issue of Seventeen magazine. She also gets a $100,000 CoverGirl contract and professional representation from Elite Model Management. Despite her rep around the runway as a bit of a “loose cannon,” English was praised for her “classic look,” as well as the “pureness and lightness” she brought to her pictures.
CariDee was determined to win over Melrose, whom she described as fake and a suck-up. On the series finale of America’s Next Top Model, the girls return and say their piece before they get the news:
“I love this industry; I love modeling; I love it so much,” cries CariDee. Simple and honest.
“I feel like I’m having an outer body experience. I’m just happy to be here,” says Melrose, without any tears or any clue the expression is actually “out-of-body experience.”
Tyra says in a soft voice, “And America’s Next Top Model is”
They all turn to look at the monitor. It’s CariDee.
“Oh my God,” she cries and falls to her knees. “Where’s my alarm clock? I need to wake up!”
Melrose looks down at the floor, still smiling, and starts pulling her hair.
“I`m so excited. I`m `America`s Next Top Model,` baby, yeah!” added CariDee on the Wednesday series finale.
A panel made up of queen bee Tyra Banks, Twiggy, J. Alexander, photographer Nigel
Barker and director Jay Manuel voted CariDee into the top spot over fellow aspiring catwalkers Melrose Bickerstaff, 23, and Eugena Washington, 21, E! Online said.
During the final elimination, the judges considered the runway performances from the final runway challenge, as well as each girl’s photos and their overall performance throughout the competition. The judges agreed that Melrose was stronger in her runway walk, but CariDee’s exquisite CoverGirl photo and her exuberant personality would be embraced by the fashion world. “My dream has always been to model. You guys believed in me. That’s amazing,” CariDee said after Tyra announced that she had become America’s Next Top Model.
In other news, Melrose shared her opininion about CariDee won the “America’s Next Top Model” with Latoya West, from About.com, here are some of West’s interview:
You say you think Tyra has a vision for her company. Why do you think CariDee fit that vision?
I don’t know. We’re just so different. I think I’m more of a high-fashion kind of girl and that’s what I love and that’s the kind of modeling that I want to do. I think CariDee is more commercial. I think that this title is a lot of work to hold up. You have to be more commercial and be a good spokesperson…I don’t know, maybe Tyra just liked CariDee better. I don’t know, but I’m OK though with it. I’m happy with where I stand. I’m proud of myself and my friends and family are all proud of me too. And, you know, I’m a winner to them. I feel like a winner. I don’t feel like a loser.
