Erica Chevillar, Hot Teacher In Trouble Over Bikini Pics

Erica Chevillar, aka Erica Lee, is a 25 year old Florida high school teacher who recently made some headlines due to some bikini pictures turning up online. The West Boca Raton High School teacher is one of nearly eighty models featured on the Web site of the USA National Bikini team, a Boca Raton-based company. The site lists calendars for sale featuring scantily clad models dressed in bathing suits, provocative outfits or lingerie. Chevillar, using the name Erica Lee, appears in outfits ranging from cleavage-baring jackets to skimpy bikinis in about two-dozen photos.
Erica Chevillar has no regrets about her decision to pose for an on-line bikini site. She makes $31,000 a year. She’s living in Boca Raton, where the cost of living has been wiping her out. She turned to modelling bikinis to make a little extra cash. “If you ask half the teachers they have a second job. Who’s to say what job they take?” she says.
Chevillar who has been modelling since college and was even a Hooter’s calender girl, took the pictures in January at the USA National Bikini Team’s headquarters in Boca. “I’m not ashamed of anything I’ve done. I think all the pictures are appropriate, they’re covered, they’re classy.”
“I keep my professional and personal life separate. We’re supposed to be held at this high level, but I get paid less than someone at Bloomingdales.”
Chevillar’s actions do not break any law nor violate any school board policy. Still, school district spokesperson Nat Harrington says the photos raise questions. “We expect our teachers and all our employees to conduct themselves in ways … in all they do.”
Staff and others feel the photos are much ado about nothing. “She’s dressed skimpy but she’s not naked. As long as she keeps here personal life and her public life separate, I don’t see a problem with it.”
Chevillar says her school has stood behind her. Still, she will be quitting in two weeks, because she just can’t live on a teacher’s salary.
