The billionaire Donald Trump perhaps recognised her from those topless photos, but he sure did a double take when he met Australia’s Miss Universe entrant Erin McNaught. While his wife Melania kept watch, Mr Trump kept his eyes on the sexy 24-year-old Gold Coast beauty who is hoping to take this year’s crown.
McNaughty, as she has become known, yesterday told The Daily Telegraph she got twice the attention from the New York tycoon at a pageant welcome party.
“All the girls formed a guard of honour and he stopped to say ‘hi’ to me,” she said.
“But then when he got to the end, he turned around and came back for me.”
Proving neither his looks nor his pick-up lines explain his appeal to women, he then asked her if they had met before.
Mr Trump previously proved a lucky charmer for Australia’s former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins, who has continued a long-distance friendship with the entrepreneur after winning the pageant he co-owns two years ago.
But while the bookies have McNaught well placed to take the tiara, conspiracy theorists behind the scenes claim there is a plot to crown a Latin American winner this year.
Centrebet has McNaught equal favourite with Miss Colombia (at odds of 8/1), while US bookies at web agency Caribet have Miss Canada in front, with McNaught and Miss Serbia & Montenegro tied for second place. -source: news.au.com-
