Representatives for the former “Friends” star, Jennifer Aniston, 37, and the “Wedding Crashers” star, Vince Vaughn, 36, have confirmed that the Hollywood couple have called it quits, People magazine reported on its Web site.
“Jennifer and Vince mutually agreed to end their relationship but continue to be good friends today,” said representatives Stephen Huvane and John Pisani, according to People.com, in a story posted Tuesday  (5 December 2006). 

Their representatives said the former co-stars decided to end their romance after Aniston visited Vaughn in London in October. Jennifer Aniston flew to London in October to visit Vince Vaughn on the set of Fred Claus, his new Christmas comedy with Paul Giamatti. Before the trip, the former Friends star appears on Oprah Winfrey to dispel rumors that she had broken up already or was planning to break up Vaugh. At the same time, Vince Vaughn claimed they were still together and threatened to sue tabloids who reported that he had been seen kissing a mystery blonde.

All year, the couple had to deny rumors of not just their break up, but the opposite, an elaborate walk down the aisle. In August, Aniston called in to Oprah Winfrey to refute stories that an elaborate $8 million wedding was being planned. She told People afterward, “People are getting fed a lot of bull. Normally we don’t even acknowledge these things, because they’re endless, but at this point, the thing that got me was that I was getting phone calls from Greece! My Aunt Mary in Greece is getting accused of lying! I mean, they’re getting angry. My dad calls and he says, ‘Honey, it’s on the CNN crawl,’ and I’m going, ‘Wait a second!’”

Rumors said that Aniston dumped Vince because Vince Vaughn cheated on Aniston with a college student, Laura Lane. Ms. Lane was backpacking in Budapest, Hungary, where Vince is filming Fred Claus, and sent an email to her friends claiming she spent the night with him, according to Star magazine.

In the email, sent on November 27, Laura wrote: “[...]next thing I know it was me and Vince alone in the hotel room. For a while we just had a drink and talked some more (and yes, we talked about Jen). And one thing led to another and obviously we were messing around before too long. We didn’t have sex, but it was just as good. Afterwards we just laid in his gigantic beautiful bed with satin sheets, smoking cigarettes and talking about life. He had a gorgeous view of the river and Buda Castle from his window, and we watched the sunrise. I felt like I was in a movie. We didn’t ever go to sleep and in the morning he walked me out and kissed me goodbye in front of everyone and was so sweet.”
