The sexy blonde, Jessica Simpson, still unhappy with her second try performance at the paying tribute to Dolly Parton for the “Kennedy Center Honors” after the Producers gave her a second chance at the song. But after Simpson saw a tape, she requested the second attempt be pulled from the show, which airs Dec. 26 on CBS.

The star of Dukes of Hazzard, drew unwanted attention earlier this month when she flubbed the words to Parton’s “9 to 5″ during a taping of the annual show, grew flustered and fled the stage. Mama Simpson wasn’t happy either, as TMZ reported that Tina Simpson was furious with her daughter and told her that the performance, which featured Jessica Simpson flubbing lyrics, then standing statue-still, before hurriedly rushing off the stage, was “embarrassing” and “unprofessional.“ Tina Simpson was particularly angry because her daughter had missed a dress rehearsal and hadn’t learned the words to the song, necessitating cue cards, which she apparently couldn’t read all that well. Oddly, Jessica’s father, Joe, didn’t seem that fazed by Jessica’s stumbling and called the performance “cute.”

“She really wasn’t happy with her performance and she did want it to be perfect for Dolly, who she idolizes,” said Cindi Berger, a spokeswoman for Simpson. The Kennedy Center Honors’ producer, George Stevens Jr., said, “We appreciate the time and energy Ms. Simpson put into this event, and respect the high standards she has for herself and that of the Kennedy Center Honors.”
Meanwhile, Dolly Parton told US show Inside Edition, “Jessica is so talented that I’m sure that someday they will be paying tribute to her, and I would be honored to perform for her. But I’ll probably be so nervous that I’ll forget my wig!”

Besides Parton, the Washington, D.C., tribute honors Andrew Lloyd Webber, Zubin Mehta, Smokey Robinson and Steven Spielberg. Caroline Kennedy is the host.

In other news, while reports have been rampant that Simpson ex-husband, Nick Lachey and his new sweetheart Vanessa Minnillo are getting closer, a report has emerged that claims that Jessica Simpson is still shopping for gifts for Nick. The report also says Jessica wants Nick ‘home’ for Christmas. The report claims that Jessica invited Nick over – not for a reconciliation – but so they can again become friends.

The Post Chronicle notes that a source in the UK has told Britain’s More magazine that Jessica nearly became a recluse after the break up. According to the article an inside tells the magazine, “Earlier this year, she started staying home more and more. Her problems developed for a while and got worse after her divorce from Nick. She barely left the house unless she was working. It got so bad she suffered panic attacks. It felt as if the world was closing in on her. Her blood pressure rose, she got dizzy and she actually felt as if she was suffocating.”
