Lisa Lampanelli - Queen of Mean

Called a “Howard Stern on estrogen“, Lisa Lampanelli is taking the comedy world by storm. Specializing in insults, the new “Lovable Queen of Mean” has enormous crossover appeal, appearing on VH1, CMT, MTV and BET’s “Comic View“.  Her headlining performance on the Comedy Central Roast of Pamela Anderson” had the industry buzzing and led to appearances on Comedy Central’s “Weekends at the D.L.” and CNN.  Her recent roast of William Shatner on Comedy Central cemented her credentials as a first-class roaster, and Howard Stern dragged her onto Sirius Satellite Radio to help roast Stern producer Gary Dell’Abate.

Take It Like a Man,” her one-hour comedy network special, was a hit yet again, and the CD and the DVD of the same name debuted at #13 on the comedy charts. “Dirty Girl”, her second one-hour special for Comedy Centra, will air on January 28th, 2007, and Lisa is now filming a movie with Owen Wilson called “Drillbit Taylor,”a comedy about a homeless ex-military man hired by three kids to protect them.

Lampanelli was the only female comedian invited to skewer Chevy Chase on the NY Friars Club Roast on Comedy Central in 2002, and slew the audience in her appearance on the “Roast of Jeff Foxworthy.” Again, the only female invited to roast the man of honor, Lampanelli proved she can “Git-R-Done” with the best of ‘em.
“Roasting, to me, is the most fun I ever have,” Lampanelli said recently.  “I can’t believe I get paid to call people names and tell them they suck. But, hey, we all gotta be good at something.”

Featured on the “Best of” episode of Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd with Colin Lisa LampanelliQuinn“, back-to-back 2005 appearances on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend”, and frequent spots on XM and Sirius satellite radio, Lampanelli is becoming a draw in major comedy markets across the country. Her upcoming one-woman show about life after divorce, dieting, and interracial dating, “Chocolate, Please,” will soon run in Los Angeles and New York City.

Here’s what they’re saying about Lisa:

Comedian Doug Stanhope. . . “Lisa Lampanelli is the Secretary of Comedy. She can stereotype people at a rate of 120 a minute with only one typo.”

Howard Stern . . . “Lisa’s a REAL funny broad!”

The New York Times . . . “Queen of Mean. An equal-opportunity offender.”

Time Out New York . . . “Lampanelli has one of the meanest acts out there — and people love it.”

Lenny Bruce biographer, Ronald Collins . . . “Lisa Lampanelli is a comedian with an independent and irreverent streak akin to that of Lenny Bruce. Her robust comedy, like Bruce’s, takes no prisoners — and that’s just how it should be.”

The Toronto Star . . . “Howard Stern on estrogen . . . a cross between Archie Bunker and Totie Fields . . . a comedy dominatrix who takes no prisoners. There’s no doubt this gal delivers.”

Sally Jessy Raphael . . . “Lisa is one of the funniest persons alive!”

Cary Hoffman, Owner of Stand-Up NY. . . “Lisa is Totie Fields with two legs!”

The New York Daily News . . . “A hilarious lady! There hasn’t been a standing-O in this part of Brooklyn since Walter O’Malley died.”

NY Friars Club newsletter . . . “Friar Lampanelli has been shocking audiences across this great nation of ours with her irreverent humor and politically incorrect jokes for the last five years. If Don Rickles had breasts and PMS, this is the woman he’d be.”

Long Island Entertainment . . . “Closing the show was the intensely blunt Lisa Lampanelli, a woman who is regularly compared to Don Rickles for her relentlessly aggressive work with audiences. Once she gets cranked up, you don’t know whether to bow, scatter or move to a dark corner of the room, but one thing is clear, Lampanelli can make people laugh. She doesn’t find taboos anyplace and blasts away on any and all ethnic types (and stereotypes). If you like your humor spontaneous and no-holds-barred, you’ll want to catch this lady soon. You like to be left alone? Sit WAY in the back.”

The Canton (OH) Repository . . . “Described as the female Don Rickles, this tough broad from Brooklyn is an equal-opportunity insulter. Her jaw-dropping wisecracks are too hilarious to be offensive.”

Good Times magazine . . . “Paralyzingly funny . . . She kept the audience laughing and didn’t let up for a second.”

Newsday . . . “Stern as a dominatrix.”
