Ashley Ferl Crying on American Idol ShowDid you guys watch the American Idol show last week? Did you remember a teenage audience girl who was crying when Sanjaya rock the stage with “You Really Got Me”? Yes, he really got her :-) The girl with the scrunched up “crying” face has been revealed by MSNBC as Ashley Ferl, a self-described “American Idol’s biggest fan” and she is Sanjaya Malakar’s biggest supporter despite his many critics. The 13-year-old girl from Riverside has grabbed the spotlight, and making the rounds of all the morning talk shows. And America has fallen in love with the adorable girl with braces.

According to LATimes, the family obtained tickets on a website to attend a taping of “Smarter Than a 5th Grader” a day passage that included not just the taping of the show itself, but also the dress rehearsal of either “Grader” or “Idol.” The fates were kind, and the mother and daughter found their way to the “Idol” rehearsal, where Ashley’s waterworks began. Her prowess was quickly brought to the attention of “Idol” producers who summoned the clan to a ringside seat of honor at the final taping. The producers were impressed with Ashley’s ability to cry a river of tears.

MSNBC actually put an Access Hollywood production crew and writers to follow the pig-tailed Ashley as she and her familyAshley Ferl Smiling Face traipsed New York City. She revealed her Tuesday night “Idol” experience. “At the beginning, they all like waved to me,” she told Access Hollywood. “I was like oh my gosh! They just waved to me, I’m so excited!”
When Ashley was brought up on the stage post-show to meet all her “Idols,” Ashley coached herself. “Don’t say anything dorky,” she told herself.
She also got some priceless memorabilia. “I got all their autographs,” she enthused. “I got earrings from Paula Abdul. They’re like hearts.”

Ashley was given to tickets to the live broadcast after her tears attracted the attention of the producers. “They were like you should come back to the show and watch the show so I got to come back,” she said.

Ashley’s tears probably saved the wretched Sanjaya from elimination, but I personally think that Sanjaya did his best last week and judges also agreed that was his best performance. Chris Richardson and Stephanie Edwards were in bottom two. And American voted Stephanie out of the show, I was sad to see Stephanie go because I think she’s a good singer and was way better than Sanjaya or Haley. But we don’t know what is in American minds…. If America keeps it up Sanjaya just might be the next American Idol. Duh.
