Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney Spears’ 16-year-old sister, has confirmed to OK! Magazine, due out tomorrow, that she is pregnant from her boyfriend Casey Aldridge. The “schoolgirl” in Nickelodeon’s popular TV show “Zoey 101,” told OK magazine that she was three months into her pregnancy and was shocked when doctors confirmed the news.
Jamie Lynn reportedly broke the news to her mother before Thanksgiving, the magazine reports.
“She was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all,” Jaime Lynn says. “A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.”
Speaking to the magazine, Jamie’s mother, Lynne, said she was stunned by the news.
Lynne Spears tells OK!: “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious. She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”
Nickelodeon, the television network carrying the star’s television show, has expressed support for Jamie acknowledging that it was a “difficult time” for her. “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being,” Nickelodeon said in a statement e-mailed to Reuters.
“Zoey 101,” which wrapped production on its fourth and final season in September, revolves around a headstrong student at a co-ed boarding school in California. Fresh episodes will air through 2008, a spokeswoman for the Viacom Inc-owned network said.
A high school student who lives in Louisiana, Jamie Lynn Spears reportedly met the father, Casey Aldridge, the son of a Tennessee papermill worker, at church. Jamie Lynn Spears’ personal publicist was not available for comment.
Casey’s mother, Joyce Aldridge, also confirmed the news. Joyce said, “We are aware of the recent interview regarding her and being pregnant, and we are in agreement with everything that was said by Jamie Lynn about the situation … everything is fine.”
When asked whether Casey had any comment to make, she said, “At this point, Casey doesn’t wish to speak out, but it would be wonderful when the time comes.”
Attempts to draw the mother into a discussion about the kids’ ages, and any negativity around the pregnancy, drew the response that “Casey will address all of this when it is time.”

“It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected. I was in complete and total shock and so was he [the father].”
“As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody,” she says.
“Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”
Lynn Spears on the sensitive and controversial subject of premarital sex:
“I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait,” she says. “But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”
Her big sister, Britney Spears, 26, may not be the best source of parenting advice. The “Toxic” singer lost primary custody of her two sons, aged 2 and 1, to ex-husband Kevin Federline after their divorce last year and is engaged in a bitter custody battle that has shone a harsh spotlight on her maternal shortcomings.

A source said: “Britney is completely under Sam’s spell. Everyone sees through him, except her. I hear that he stays with her most of the time, and she pays for his food, his bar and restaurant tabs and his clothing. She takes care of everything.
“Her lawyers have begged her to at least get a pre-nup, but she didn’t seem to be listening.”
Kevin, 29, is said to be furious about the 26-year-old singer’s plans as he does not want Sam to be stepfather to his sons, two-year-old Sean Preston and 15-month-old Jayden James.
A family insider told America’s Star magazine: “Kevin has seen Sam lose his temper. We hear he swears a lot and makes very derogatory statements when he’s alone with Brit.
“Kevin has forbidden Britney from having Sam around the boys. In fact, Kevin has threatened to get a restraining order. She’ll lose custody if she allows Sam around them, Kevin will make sure of it.”
