A Philippina Girl, Ramiele Malubay: Goodbye American Idol
Category: Career, Entertainment, Her Diary, Lifestyle, Personality
Finally Ramiele Malubay, 20, says goodbye to American Idol on Wednesday night show. She was always the one to cry when others got the boot. Personally, I wasn’t surprised to see Ramiele, a 4-feet and 11-inch Philippina girl, tagged as a “small girl with a huge voice and funky hair, in the bottom three. I feel that the thing that hurt Ramiele’s chances the most for winning American Idol was that her performances lacked the personality of a true pop star.
Entertainment Weekly: Did you watch your performance?
Malubay: I try not to watch myself. I get really scared to see myself perform. When I do watch myself, I’m like, ”Off! Off!” I’m so hard on myself.
Ramiele Malubay claimed that she doesn’t know the famous Dolly Parton “9 to 5″ song. The show was opened up with a group performance of Dolly Parton’s hit “9 to 5.”
EW: ”9 to 5”?
Malubay: I didn’t even know that! I was like, Crap! Everybody knows that song. I’m all bugging out. But the only song I knew was ”I Will Always Love You.” How I went about picking my song was taking this list of songs I didn’t even know. I listened to them to see which one I could tweak. But if it’s not your genre, it’s not your genre.
