The Billboard.com reported Britney Spears’ new single, “Womanizer,” has made a record-breaking leap to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, after debuting at #96 last week. Surprisingly, the track is Spears’ first #1 on the chart since her debut single, 1999′s “… Baby One More Time.”

The “Womanizer” will appear on Britney Spears’ upcoming album, Circus, due December 2 — is also #1 on iTunes charts in Canada, France, Spain and Sweden, Reuters reports. With 286,000 downloads, the single had the biggest opening week by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan started tracking digital sales in 2003, beating Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body” by just over 200 units. In between her nearly 10-year gap between No. 1s, Spears has placed four other top 10s on the Hot 100, the last being “Gimme More,” the first single from her last set, “Blackout.” That song jumped 68-3 last October with first-week download sales of 179,000.

Last week, Spears premiered the video for “Womanizer,” in which we see her in various states of undress and playing several different characters, including a naughty secretary and a butt-kicking waitress. The heartthrob from the video for Britney’s new single ‘Womanizer’ has been revealed as former Calvin Klein underwear model Brandon Stoughton.
