Congrats to Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony for their twin babies! The twins were born early Friday, 22 Feb, in Long Island, N.Y. The girl was born at 12:12 a.m. and weighed 5 lbs. 7 oz., and the boy followed at 12:23 a.m., weighing 6 lbs. Both have yet to be named.
“I learned this morning. I’m ecstatic, I really am. I’m happy for her,” Yolanda Santa Maria, Anthony’s older sister, told PEOPLE Friday after hearing the birth news on Good Morning America. “She’s a mom for the first time. I can just imagine the euphoria she’s going through.”
“Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon,” Lopez’s manager Simon Fields tells People magazine. People magazine is reportedly offering upward of $6 million for the exclusive U.S. rights for the first photos of the twin babies.
The 38-year-old actress and singer’s efforts to become pregnant have filled tabloid pages for the past few years. The twins are her first children; Anthony, 39, has a daughter and two sons from two previous relationships.
The US singer-actress, who is of Puerto Rican origin but was born and grew up in the Bronx, was married twice before she wed Anthony. The couple starred together last year in “El Cantante,” a film about salsa legend Hector Lavoe.
