Lindsay Lohan vs Marilyn Monroe? Lindsay was cute in Mean Girls and Marilyn Monroe was, well, Marilyn Monroe. The Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has posed nude for the latest issue of New York magazine, recreating Marilyn Monroe’s most famous photo, The Last Sitting in 1962.
Wearing a blonde wig and covered only by a sheer pink sheet, Lohan seems trying very hard to look like her idol, Marilyn Monroe. The shoot was done by famed photographer Bert Stern, who also photographed Monroe’s The Last Sitting in 1962 at the Hotel Bel-Air in California - she was found dead from an apparent drugs overdose just six weeks later.
Stern said that he found women like Lohan and her tabloid companions Paris Hilton and Britney Spears “interesting”.
“They’re girls that draw attention to their notoriety and their celebrity through their behaviour. I thought she was a natural, not at all squeamish,” he said.
The 21-year-old star said she she was “comfortable” with the nude shoot, but admitted she had done 250 sit-ups the night before to prepare. The actress tells the magazine that she is a huge Monroe fan, and has even bought an apartment where she once lived.
Lohan said: “If you saw my house, I have a lot of Marilyn stuff. It’s eerie because it’s this picture of her, and it’s kind of cartoony, and there’s a big bottle of pills next to her, and they’ve fallen over. Here is a woman who is giving herself to the public. She’s saying, ‘Look, you’ve taken a lot from me, so why don’t I give it to you myself.’ She’s taking control back.”
