Rihanna and Chris Brown Finished

Following the initial explosive allegations by Rihanna that her boyfriend, Chris Brown, attacked her in their rented Lamborghini on the morning of the Grammy Awards, the entertainment media has tacked on many additional details and quite a few rumors.
While so far the LA District Attorney has returned the case to police citing insufficient evidence to make a charge, the media has decide that such charges will be forthcoming very soon – the only question being whether the Kiss Kiss singer will be charged with domestic battery (a felony) or criminal threats as well (also a felony).
Brown posted $50,000 bail and is released on his own recognizance. Rihanna plans to return to her native Barbados with her parents.
The cause of the fight, in which Chris is reported to have attacked with his fists and left Rihanna with cuts and bruises on her face, and bite marks on her arms and fingers, has been rumored as either a text message Chris received from another woman, or some flirting Chris is alleged to have done with another woman.
According to a New York Daily News anonymous source, “He got a booty call. He got a text. Rihanna saw it and she got upset. They started to argue. She got out of the car. He wanted her to get back in, so he grabbed her. She pulled away. That’s when she’s told people he hit her.”
The alleged text is rumored to have been from singer Keshia Chante, 20, but her manager, Mona Scott, insists that Chante had nothing to do with the incident, which took place early Sunday morning. “This is another unsubstantiated, untrue report; she was nowhere near the incident in any way,” Ms Scott told UsMagazine.com. “She was nowhere near Rihanna or Chris Brown,” the manager added. “She had nothing to do with any of that.” The manager insists that Brown and Chante barely know one another, despite a segment from “Entertainment Tonight Canada” that finds Chante showing Brown around town. In a later interview, she sent Brown a message, to which Brown responded he would love to meet up with her again. “She’s not even dating Chris!” Scott said. “I think they met a few years back, probably three or four years ago, in Canada. But that’s it.” Keshia is reported “frantic” over phone calls she has been getting ever since the rumor began.
Other sources claim Brown was flirting with British singer Leona Lewis, and Rihanna flew into a rage. According to the British paper the Daily Mirror, Brown was speaking to Lewis at a pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles hours before the late-night attack. While the conversation was innocent, it “set Rihanna off,” according to an anonymous source quoted by the paper.
Rep’s for Leona Lewis also denied any involvement, telling Access Hollywood, “Leona was at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party with her family and boyfriend and had nothing whatsoever to do with any argument that may have ensued between Chris and Rihanna. Any allegations that the pair had flirted are completely false.”
Paris Hilton is also being named as a possible spark, an allegation she denies hotly. “That’s ridiculous and an outright lie,” Paris Hilton told Radar Online. “I was not ‘all over him’ as some magazine reported. I said, ‘hello’ and that was it. I love Rihanna and that never happened,” Hilton continued
Rihanna has apparently told police that this is not the first time that Brown has assaulted her, and that there has been a pattern of increasing abuse. One of Rihanna’s friends has confirmed that she had visible bruises on her neck in early December and that the relationship has always been stormy.
Meanwhile, despite the abuse allegations against him, Brown could win a trophy at the NAACP’s annual awards ceremony tonight. He’s in the running for outstanding male artist, an award he won last year. However, there are reports that radio stations are dropping his songs, and his “Got Milk?” a campaign is being dropped as well.
