Talented British model, Katie Piper, had a cup of sulfuric acid thrown in her face on March 31st, 2008. She lost the sight in her left eye and acid also dripped down her neck, ears and hands as well as slipping into her nose and throat. Piper was treated in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where the surgeons removed all the skin from her face, before rebuilding it with a skin substitute and then a skin graft.
