Britney Spears: What happens in Vegas always stays in Vegas
The pop princess, Britney Spears, 25, reportedly collapsed shortly after leading the New Year’s Eve countdown at Las Vegas Nightclub and was carried out by bodyguards. The star was hired to host the festivities at Ceasars Palace’s PURE nightclub for $300,000. Also seen celebrating with Britney were Marlan Williams, NBA retired player Julius Irving and poker pro Chris Ferguson. Rocker Dave Navarro, who hosted a New Year’s event at a club in Treasure Island, was also seen. Britney hosted two countdowns (one in the VIP section of the Las Vegas club and the other on the clubs outdoor terrace) before fainting around 12.50am. Robin Leach of Luxe Life, reported that Britney yelled to her club crowd: “What happens in Vegas always stays in Vegas” and after the countdown she wished everybody a Happy New Year. The New York Post reported that around 12:45 a.m., Spears, who purportedly had been drinking champagne and dancing to her own song “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “went into a dead faint and just fell right to the floor.” Britney had been reported earlier at the JackRabbit nightclub in Scottsdale with Paris Hilton’s former squeeze, footballer Matt Leinart.
